The Challenge
To cut and remove a section of damaged line pipe (1.7m diameter) lying at a depth of 10 meters off the Irish Coast.

The Specification
Fully insulated and concrete coated underwater pipeline, complied of 150mm reinforced concrete and 20mm of steel protective inner leaf.
The Solution
InterCore developed a remotely operated underwater saw designed to perform a precision cut on the pipe. An underwater camera was mounted on the saw for continuous visual contact during the cut - and the saw was operated from a barge. The cut section was them removed using a 50 tonne barge mounted crane.
The Outcome
The project was complete in 4 days.
